About the Author:
Monica Hughes (1925–2003) was a Canadian author who is especially known for her books on science fiction. She also wrote adventure and historical novels. The text Goodbye to the Moon is an adaptation from one of her popular works of science fiction.

Ans: Once upon a time a sailor and some of his friends were sailing through a big sea. After a whole day’s journey, they decided to take some rest in an island nearby. They anchored their ship near the island and started cooking their meal. Suddenly, the island shook for a moment and then started moving towards the deep sea. They were horrified to see that the island was actually a huge sea -creature in reality. The whale was disturbed by the fire of their cooking. The sailor and his friends immediately jumped into their ship to save themselves.
