What is Noun? (Noun কি?)
Noun হল একটি naming word বা নাম বোঝানোর জন্য ব্যবহৃত শব্দ। এটি কোনো বস্তু, ব্যক্তি, পদার্থ, অনুভূতি এবং আরও বহু জিনিসকে বোঝায়।
Types of Nouns (Noun এর প্রকারভেদ)
Proper Noun and Common Noun
Noun যখন একই জাতীয় কোন ব্যক্তি, বস্তু বা প্রাণীকে নির্দিষ্ট করে না বুঝিয়ে সে জাতীয় সকলকে একসাথে বোঝায়, তাকে Common Noun বলে।
যেমন- boy, girl, month, city
Noun যখন কোন নির্দিষ্ট ব্যক্তি, বস্তু বা স্থানের নাম বোঝায় তাকে Proper Noun বলে।
যেমন Shyama, July, Kolkata
Proper noun সাধারনত capital letter দিয়ে শুরু হয়।Proper noun এর আগে সাধারণত articles(a, an,the) বসে না।
Proper Noun এর সাধারণত plural form হয় না।

Concrete and Abstract noun
যে সমস্ত জিনিসগুলিকে আমরা দেখতে পারি, স্পর্শ করতে পারি, তাদের concrete noun বলে। বিভিন্ন জিনিসের নাম,মানুষের নাম, জীবজন্তুর নাম, জায়গার নাম ইত্যাদি হল concrete noun. Proper noun গুলি সাধারণত Concrete noun.
যেমন- Chair, Tree, Man, Raja, lake, Africa
যে সমস্ত Noun কোনো ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুর গুন,অবস্থা, অনুভূতি, ধারণা, বৈশিষ্ট্য ইত্যাদি প্রকাশ করে, তাদের abstract noun বলে।এই সমস্ত Noun কে দেখা বা স্পর্শ করা যায় না।
যেমন- love,hate, honesty, death,joy, decency

Countable and Uncountable nouns
যে সমস্ত Noun কে গননা করা যায়, তাদের Countable noun বলে। Countable noun এর আগে a,an,the ব্যবহার করা যায়। এগুলির Plural form(বহুবচন) হয়।
যেমন- cup, tree, TV, box etc
যে সমস্ত Noun কে গননা করা যায় না, তাদের uncountable noun বলে। এদের no count/ mass noun ও বলা হয়। এগুলির Plural form সাধারণত নেই। এগুলির সামনে a,an ব্যবহার হয় না কিন্তু the এর ব্যবহার হতে পারে।
যেমন- smoke, furniture, water, news, beauty, intelligence

Collective noun
Noun যখন কোনো ব্যক্তি, বস্তু বা প্রাণীর দল বোঝায়,তাকে Collective noun বলে। Collective Noun কে সাধারণত Singular হিসাবে বিবেচনা করা হয়। তবে কিছু কিছু collective noun যেমন cattle, poultry, gentry সবসময়ই Plural হিসাবে গন্য হয়।

Material Noun
যে Noun সেই সমস্ত জিনিসের নাম বোঝায় যাদের ওজন আছে এবং পরিমাপ করা যায়, তাদের Material Noun বলে।
যেমন- glass, water, gold, iron, cotton,wool, air, milk etc.
