English Grammar এ মোট তিন প্রকার Degree আছে।
1. Positive Degree
2. Comparative Degree
3. Superlative Degree
এই তিন প্রকার Degree নিয়ে সংক্ষেপে আলোচনা করা হল-
Positive Degree:
| তুলনা | কোনো তুলনা হয় না / সমান বোঝানো হয়। |
| চিহ্ন | so…as/ as…as |
| উদাহরণ | a) No other boy in the class is so good as Akash. b) Rajib is as talented as Shyamal. c) Very few girls are as smart as Sonakshi in the class. |
2. Comparative Degree
| তুলনা | দুই ব্যক্তি, বস্তু বা দলের মধ্যে তুলনা হয়। |
| চিহ্ন | than |
| উদাহরণ | a) Rajani is taller than Rukmani. b) Kolkata is larger than most other cities. c) The Mount Everest is higher than any other peak in the world. |
3. Superlative Degree :
| তুলনা | অনেক ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুর সঙ্গে তুলনা হয়। |

| উদাহরণ | a) Kakali is the tallest girl in the class. b) Radhika is one of the best students in the school. |
Change of Degree: Points to Remember
Degree Change করার সময় মূল বাক্যের অর্থের পরিবর্তন করা যাবে না।
যে Adjective /Adverb শব্দটি থাকবে তা Degree এর বিভিন্ন রুপ অনুযায়ী পরিবর্তন করতে হবে।**
Degree পরিবর্তনের সময় মূল বাক্যের subject এবং object এর স্থান পরিবর্তন করতে হবে। (যেমন- Positive Degree এর object টিকে Comparative Degree / Superlative Degree তে পরিবর্তন করতে হলে subject হিসেবে বসাতে হবে)
