The World Health Organization on March 2020 declared Covid-19 as pandemic.
Common signs of infection include fever, coughing and breathing difficulties. In severe cases, it can cause pneumonia, multiple organ failure and death.
The COVID-19 virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
The WHO recommends basic hygiene such as regularly washing hands with soap and water, and covering mouth with elbow when sneezing or coughing. Maintaining “Social distance” is very important to prevent spreading of this pandemic.
At this time, there are no specific vaccines or treatments for COVID-19. However, there are many ongoing clinical trials evaluating potential treatments.
