What is Priyamvada Birla Scholarship?
Priyamvada Birla Scholarship is a financial assistance program for meritorious but needy students who are pursuing undergraduate degree courses in West Bengal. The scholarship is administered by the South Point Education Society and is funded by the Madhav Prasad Priyamvada Birla Apex Charitable Trust. It was launched in the academic session 2013-14.
Who is Eligible for the Scholarship?
To be eligible for the scholarship, you must be a student pursuing undergraduate degree courses such as B.A., B.Com, B. Sc, BBA, BCA, LLB, B.E. / B. Tech., MBBS / BDS or similar courses in recognized colleges / institutions in the State of West Bengal. Your annual family income from all sources should be less than Rs75,000.
What are the Benefits of the Scholarship?
The scholarship provides a sum of Rs24,000/- per year towards meeting your expenses for tuition fees, boarding and mess charges, and study materials. It shall remain valid for the entire duration of your course, but not exceeding 4 (four) years, provided you maintain a certain academic standard.
Number of Scholarships
This Scholarship Scheme will award around 25 successful aspirants a sum of 24,000/- each per year towards meeting their expenses in the form of tuition fees, boarding and mess charges and on study materials and shall remain valid for the entire duration of their course, but not exceeding 4 (four) years. At its full strength, the Trust will disburset 24,000/- to 100 aspirants each year, i.e. 25 each in the First, Second, Third and Fourth year of their respective courses, wherever applicable. The final decision on distribution of scholarships shall be reserved with the Madhav Prasad Priyamvada Birla Apex Charitable Trust which can, at any point of time, change the number of recipients and/or the amount of Scholarships or discontinue the Scholarship Scheme without assigning any reasons.
How to Apply for the Priyamvada Birla Scholarship
Step 1: Visit the Official Website
To apply for the Priyamvada Birla Scholarship, you must first visit the official website of South Point School. Once you are on the homepage, look for the option that says “Priyamvada Birla Scholarship Application Form.”
Step 2: Fill Out the Application Form
After clicking on the application form option, a new web page will appear. Here, you will need to enter your email address and click on the submit button. Once you have done this, the registration form will appear. Fill out all the details that are asked for and attach all of your important documents. Once you have completed the form, click on the submit button.
Step 3: Renewal Process
If you have already received the scholarship and want to renew it, you must have scored at least 45% marks in general professional courses. To apply for the renewal application, write an application and attach all the required documents. Send the application to the following address: The board of trustees Madhav Prasad Birla Apex Charitable Trust c / o South Point High School, Ballygunge Place, Kolkata 700019. The required documents include the previous year’s receipt of the scholarship, semester result duly attested by HOD, and recommendation from the head of the institute.
Step 4: Check Beneficiary List
To check the beneficiary list of the scholarship, follow these steps:
- Open the official website of the scholarship scheme.
- Click on the Priyamvada Birla Scholarship option from the homepage.
- Select the Beneficiary List option.
- A list of all the selected 30 applicants will appear on the screen.
