A month later a letter came for Father.
এক মাস বাদে বাবার কাছে একটা চিঠি এল।
After he finished reading it, his eyes looked as if he had been crying.
চিঠিটা পড়া শেষ করার পর , তার চোখ দেখে মনে হচ্ছিল তিনি যেন কাঁদছিলেন।
“Do you want to know what became of your kite ? ” he said.
“তােমরা কি জানতে চাও তােমাদের ঘুড়ির কী হয়েছে?” তিনি বললেন।
Then he sat down beside us and told us the whole story.
তখন তিনি আমাদের পাশে বসলেন আর পুরাে গল্পটা আমাদের বললেন।
Father had a brother and a sister.
বাবার এক ভাই আর এক বােন ছিল।
He had quarrelled with his brother and left home.
তিনি তার ভাইয়ের সঙ্গে ঝগড়া করেছিলেন এবং বাড়ি ছেড়ে চলে গিয়েছিলেন।
Years afterward, he felt sorry and when he went back, he found his brother had died and he couldn’t find his sister.
বহুবছর বাদে, যখন তিনি দুঃখিত হয়ে বাড়ি ফিরে আসেন, তিনি দেখেন তার ভাই মারা গেছেন আর বােনকেও তিনি খুঁজে পাননি।
The letter father had just received was from his sister, Aunt Esther, mother of Dick and Mimi.
যে চিঠিটি বাবা সবে পেয়েছিলেন সেটা ছিল তার বােন, এস্থার পিসির,
ডিক আর মিমির মা।
She was a widow who lived hundreds of miles inland.
তিনি ছিলেন একজন বিধবা মহিলা যিনি শত শত মাইল দূরে মূল ভূখণ্ডের ভেতরে বাস করতেন।
One day when Dick and Mimi were out in the woods, they discovered the kite on the top of a tree and carried it home.
একদিন যখন ডিক আর মিমি বনের মধ্যে গিয়েছিল, তারা এই ঘুড়িটাকে একটা গাছের ওপর দেখতে পায় এবং সেটিকে বাড়িতে নিয়ে আসে।
When their mother saw the kite patched with the letter, she turned pale.
যখন তাদের মা চিঠি দিয়ে তালি লাগানো ঘুড়িটি দেখতে পান, তিনি ফ্যাকাশে হয়ে যান।
It was the very letter she had once written to her brother.
এটা ছিল সেই চিঠি যেটা তিনি একসময় তার ভাইকে লিখেছিলেন।
Philippa was her mother’s name and Claude was her father’s.
ফিলিপ্পা ছিল তার মায়ের নাম আর ক্লড ছিল তার বাবার নাম।
She knew who we must be.
তিনি বুঝতে পারেন আমরা কে হতে পারি।
So she sat down and wrote to Big Half Moon and Father received her letter.
তাই বিগ্ হাফ মুনে চিঠি লিখতে বসেন এবং বাবা সেই চিঠিটি পেয়েছেন।
Next day, Father went and brought Aunt Esther and Dick and Mimi with him.
পরের দিন, বাবা গিয়ে এস্থার পিসি, ডিক আর মিমিকে সঙ্গে করে নিয়ে আসেন।
They have been here ever since.
তারপর থেকে তারা এখানেই থাকে।
Aunt Esther is a dear and Dick and Mimi are too jolly for words.
এস্থার পিসি খুব ভালো আর ডিক আর মিমি কতটা হাসিখুশি তা কথায় বােঝানাে যাবে না।
But the best of it all is that we have relations now !
আর সব থেকে ভালো ব্যাপার হল এখন আমাদেরও আত্মীয়স্বজন আছে।

Me: Hello Sir, will you please listen to me?
Shopkeeper: Yes, how can I help you?
Me: I am in trouble. The front tyre is punctured. I have to go Siliguri.Will you please repair it?
Shopkeeper: Definitely.Put the bike inside the garrage. Let me see the tyre.
Me: Thank you. How long will you take to repair it?
Shopkeeper: It may take 20 minutes. Please sit on the chair. I am going to repair it right away.
Me: Fine. Thank you.
