About the Author:
Paul Jennings (1943–) is an English-born Australian children’s writer. His books mainly feature short stories that lead the reader through an unusual series of events that end with a twist. In 1985, Jennings’ first book of short stories, Unreal, was published. The present story is an adaptation from one of his notable works.

It all started with the ice-cream man, Mr Peppi.

Ans: The peculiar spellings show the transformation of the narrator from the smartest boy of the school to an ordinary one. He tried to be the smartest kid in the school but ended up as a very ordinary kid. Now he commits silly mistakes.
